Job Description
With 118 beds and more than 400 physicians on its medical staff, Pali Momi Medical Center offers a full range of services for the communities of Central and West O'ahu. The hospital has delivered many medical firsts for the community, including Central and West O'ahu’s only interventional cardiac catheterization unit to detect and treat heart disease, a fully integrated minimally invasive surgical suite, a comprehensive women’s center, CT scan and MRI services, and the state’s first retina center. Pali Momi is the only facility in Hawai'i that uses a team triage approach in its emergency room, where patients are promptly evaluated by an emergency physician.
Our Sterile Services department provides full support throughout the medical facility with centralized processing and maintenance of medical/surgical supplies and equipment. Professional care services include cleaning, storing and issuance of both sterile and non-sterile devices, equipment and supplies.
As the Lead Surgical Instrument Processing Technician, you will be accountable for the daily work flow and assignments to ensure accurate cleaning, preparation, inspection, assembly, high-level disinfection, and /or sterilization of all instrumentation, medical devices, and patient care equipment per the manufacturers’ instructions for use. You will serve as a resource to other employees, and point person to handle the daily OR room requests, turnovers, emergent trouble shooting, vendor communication, and paperwork and clinical communication. We are looking for someone with outstanding patient care and communication skills, a strong sense of surgical procedure and protocol and a commitment to creating a healthier Hawai'i.

Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA), OR Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD). Three (3) years of central service/sterile processing or related experience.
