Job Description
Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.
Straub's Kailua clinic brings new services and larger facilities to the Windward community while continuing to provide high quality personalized care. Straub's family health center now offers patients with computer-linked access to specialists at Straub Hospital, digital X-ray services available on site, and lab and physical therapy. Our physicians and staff provide a full range of adult and pediatric care and women’s health services, including employment and school physicals, women’s health, family planning, ophthalmologic exams, glasses and contact lenses, minor skin surgery and ambulatory care.
As a Clinic Aide, you will form part of the dedicated team of physicians and medical staff that provide caring, thorough health services to our patients and their families. In this role, you will gain valuable first-hand clinical operations and health care experience while performing a wide variety tasks ranging from monitoring supplies to administering health care to patients of all ages to supporting departmental staff. Minimum Qualifications: Nurse Aide or Medical Assistant certificate showing successful completion of courses for a Nurse Assistant or Medical Assistant training program OR completion of a fundamentals course from an accredited school of Nursing (name of nursing school and completion of fundamentals course) OR Military Corpsman certificate OR EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or MICT (Mobile Intensive Care Technician) certificate OR An RN/MD license or RN/MD graduate certificate from a college in a foreign country; a successful completion of HPH Clinical Aide Program. Current Heart Saver-AED Card.
Preferred Qualifications: Completion of medical terminology course.
