Job Description Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women’s Center and the Women’s Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.

Through clinical trials, the newest, most promising medications, medical devices, and treatment protocols are made available to patients. The Clinical Trials team at Hawai‘i Pacific Health Research Institute (HPHRI) supports clinical trials within the Hawai‘i Pacific Health network of hospitals to expand our knowledge and better provide top quality medical care to Hawai‘i’s populations. We participate in more than 200 clinical trials a year, working with more than 70 principal investigators who are overseen by our highly trained professional staff of care providers and research managers.

If you have excellent patient care skills and an interest in contributing to groundbreaking clinical research, you could be an ideal candidate for our Clinical Research Coordinator position. In this role, you will perform nursing functions and coordinates all aspects related to implementation of research protocols or clinical trials with an emphasis on patient relations. We are looking for someone with an understanding of clinical research protocol, the ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and a commitment to helping our organization deliver the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawai‘i Registered Nurse License and Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS). Two (2) years acute care experience or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Clinical Research Certification, One (1) year clinical research experience. Must obtain Good Clinical Practice certification within 90 days of hire. One (1) year clinical research experience.
