Job Description
Kapi'olani Medical Specialists (KMS) is a specialty physician group dedicated to caring for Hawai'i's women and children through excellence in academics, physician training, medical research and clinical care. The group is comprised of over 100 Specialists, Nurse Practitioners and other staff, covering newborn to women's health services at Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children. KMS operates exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes, offering highly specialized care options at Kapi'olani and building support for these services within Hawai'i as a whole. The group’s specialty areas include: Neurology, Orthopedics,Genetics, Adolescent Medicine, Otolaryngology, Behavioral Health Services, Hematology/Oncology, Neonatology, Pediatric Intensive Care, Family Medicine and the full spectrum of Pediatric Specialties. Its Women's specialists include Breast and General Surgery, Adult Hospitalists and GYN Oncology.
Kapi‘olani Medical Center is committed to the total health care needs of our patients. In addition to their physical health, we recognize that mental and emotional states can also enhance or hinder treatment and recovery. When everyday challenges are heightened by a personal illness or an illness in the family, patients can experience significant anxiety, depression, or other difficulties. Kapi‘olani’s Behavioral Health Service (KBHS) help patients and their families manage these concerns by providing services designed to meet the behavioral health needs of patients who are being treated in the hospital or as follow-up care for women and children who are being seen in our outpatient clinics. We provide on-site psychiatric and psychological services for our patients, and KBHS is a training site for the University of Hawai‘i School of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry.
As the Licensed Clinical Social Worker, you will provide assessment, counseling services, and referral services to patients and their families. You will implement, develop, and evaluate patient care and social services, and assists patients and their families in understanding and coping with the emotional and social problems affecting their health status. We are looking for someone with outstanding customer service and communication skills, ability to carry out tasks with minimal supervision and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Social Work. Must meet education requirements for Hawai‘i state licensing. Current Hawai‘i Clinical Social Worker license (LCSW). Current BLS/HCP card. Two (2) years of experience in a LCSW role. Professional knowledge of loss, illness, and disability issues.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of social and mental health problems for adolescents and their families. Knowledge of adolescent crisis and suicide risk evaluation, prevention, and intervention.
