At Hawai‘i Pacific Health the Quality Management team strengthens the organization by promoting a data-driven approach to systematic quality and improvement. The team maintains accreditation status with The Joint Commission and with Federal and State regulating agencies. It supports the mission of the organization by ensuring that appropriate quality tools are used to measure and facilitate performance improvements, and promoting a culture of safety. Among other services, the department staff participates in national quality programs to ensure the monitoring of quality performance and evaluate how standards are being met.

As the Quality Data Coordinator, you will help to ensure that Hawai‘i Pacific Health upholds its characteristic service excellence through the intelligent application and interpretation of data collection. You will be responsible for facilitating data abstraction for quality related projects and for reporting data to assigned registries and/or accreditation agencies. You will generate reports and perform data analysis; collaborate with Patient Safety and Quality (PSQ) staff and other Hawai‘i Pacific Health staff to understand their reporting needs and assist in the collection and presentation of meaningful data; and provide technical and administrative support. We are looking for someone with excellent communications and planning skills, willingness to work with others in a team-oriented atmosphere and a commitment to our vision of delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: Two (2) or more years of college in business or a health care related field and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Two (2) years of experience with data processing/database management, demonstrating progressively higher levels of data analytical skills and proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and/or Access.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. Knowledge of medical terminology. Experience in data scrubbing, manipulation and data presentation. Experience with clinical data and/or health records. Previous experience in health care setting.
