Hawaii Pacific Health Development Specialist - Philanthropy in Honolulu, Hawaii

Job Description

Hawai'i Pacific Health is a not-for-profit health care network with over 70 locations statewide including medical centers, clinics, physicians and other caregivers serving Hawai'i and the Pacific Region with high quality, compassionate care. Its four medical centers - Kapi'olani, Pali Momi, Straub and Wilcox - specialize in innovative programs in women’s health, pediatric care, cardiovascular services, cancer care, bone and joint services and more. Hawai'i Pacific Health is recognized nationally for its excellence in patient care and the use of electronic health records to improve quality and patient safety.

The Philanthropy department at Hawai‘i Pacific Health aims to create and develop sustainable philanthropy initiatives across the organization. As a nonprofit hospital system, we provide care to all people, regardless of their ability to pay. Philanthropic support from the community is therefore vital and enables us to ensure that everyone who needs care can receive it. Donors help to bring state-of-the-art technologies to Hawai‘i because our families deserve them. Donations are utilized in patient services and programs, research and education, areas of greatest need at each facility, and endowment.

If you have excellent organizational and communication skills, you can help to build Hawai‘i Pacific Health’s goals in the key area of funding and community support. As the Development Specialist, you will provide general support for all aspects of fund development and philanthropic activities by performing a variety of clerical, accounting and data entry activities to ensure database integrity. You will execute and support constituent acknowledgment, stewardship and cultivation activities; be responsible for reconciliation and accuracy of financial, constituent and campaign records; assist with external and internal communications; and provide technical support to the staff as needed. We are looking for someone motivated and energetic, with an understanding of philanthropy and fund development and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.
