Hawaii Pacific Health Financial Counselor - Guest Registration in Honolulu, Hawaii

Job Description

Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.

The Guest Registration department provides high quality customer care to patients by facilitating efficient and helpful registration service. We provide assistance to external and internal customers by obtaining patient personal, financial and insurance information during the registration process. Our friendly staff also assist with the coordination of bed assignments and the completion of preliminary authorization and verification for incoming patients to ensure a quality guest experience.

If you enjoy working with people and believe that quality health care is a right that should not be denied based on someone’s income, you could be our next Financial Counselor. In this role, you will provide valuable support and information to Straub patients and their families so that they fully understand and are comfortable with meeting their financial responsibilities. This includes coordinating and overseeing patients’ financial responsibility from pre-admission through discharge, and identifying and organizing financial resources needed to cover anticipated medical charges that are not covered by health plan, insurance, or other sources. We are looking for someone with patient and sensitive customer service skills, and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.
