Job Description
Kapi'olani Medical Specialists (KMS) is a specialty physician group dedicated to caring for Hawai'i's women and children through excellence in academics, physician training, medical research and clinical care. The group is comprised of over 100 Specialists, Nurse Practitioners and other staff, covering newborn to women's health services at Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children. KMS operates exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes, offering highly specialized care options at Kapi'olani and building support for these services within Hawai'i as a whole. The group’s specialty areas include: Neurology, Orthopedics, Genetics, Adolescent Medicine, Otolaryngology, Behavioral Health Services, Hematology/Oncology, Neonatology, Pediatric Intensive Care, Family Medicine and the full spectrum of Pediatric Specialties. Its Women's specialists include Breast and General Surgery, Adult Hospitalists and GYN Oncology.
The Resource Team provides quality, comprehensive patient care in an assigned facility, covering for regular staff members that, for a variety of reasons, are unable to attend to their normal positions. The Resource Team provides clinical and nursing support and encompasses a broad skill set that enables members to support various areas in the hospital or clinic. As a Medical Assistant, you will join the dedicated team of physicians and medical staff that provide our recognized compassionate health services to patients and their families. In this role, you will perform a wide variety of patient care activities in our Resource Team department. We are looking for someone detail-oriented and attentive, with strong communications and patient care skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience. Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with the American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) or Assessment Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE) from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card. Must be able to complete departmental competency assessment by conclusion of orientation period. One (1) year back office medical assistant experience in an outpatient clinic, physician’s office, or related experience.
