Job Description

The Hawai‘i Pacific Health Medical Group is comprised of over 700 employed physicians and advanced practice providers. Together with our four medical centers (Kapi‘olani, Pali Momi, Straub, and Wilcox) and more than 50 convenient clinic locations statewide, our nonprofit health system is one of the state’s largest health care providers. Our network of physicians and specialists work together to provide a distinctive and effective model of coordinated care for maintaining the health and wellness of our patients.

Palliative care is specialized medical care for people with serious illnesses, which strives to provide patients with relief from the symptoms, pain and stress of their condition. In Palliative Medicine we utilize a multidisciplinary approach, relying on input from professionals across the continuum of treatment to formulate a plan of care that can relieve suffering in as many areas of a patient's life as possible. The Palliative care team aims to address the full spectrum of physical, emotional, spiritual and social concerns that may arise with advanced illness.

If you enjoy working with people and believe in warm, compassionate health care, you could be our next Nurse Practitioner in our Palliative Care department at Kapi‘olani. In this role, you will be working with the palliative interdisciplinary team in providing compassionate care to women and children in the inpatient and outpatient settings. The ideal candidate would be a Family Nurse Practitioner or experience working with both children and adult women who works well in a team to advocate for medically and socially complex patients. Additional desired skills include pain management and oncology experience. Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children is Hawai‘i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is also a tertiary care, medical teaching and research facility.
