Job Description
Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.
Our Bone and Joint Services and Family Health Clinics offer a variety of therapeutic and diagnostic care for patients of all ages with neuromusculoskeletal problems or injuries. Our sports medicine team understands the importance of training, conditioning and both surgical and non-surgical treatments. We offer complete medical care to the athlete, from musculoskeletal injuries to issues pertaining to nutrition and health maintenance. Our goal is to balance therapeutic treatment and maintaining sports or other physical disciplines at peak performance.
As the Patient Referral Specialist, you will play the crucial role of ensuring that our patients receive accurate and timely referrals for medical attention when needed. You will provide essential coordination of clinical activities for new patients and report functions to referring agencies while maintaining patient confidentiality. We are looking for someone prudent and organized, with excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Basic Computer skills. One year of clerical support in a healthcare setting or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Basic Medical Terminology. Experience with EPIC.
