Job Description
Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.
Our Perioperative Services department provides full support throughout the duration of a patient's surgical procedure, spanning ward admission, anesthesia, surgery and recovery. Professional care services include identification of the patient’s individual needs, patient care plan development and implementation and the coordination of nursing service to restore each patient’s health before, during and after a surgical procedure.
You can join our state-of-the-art Perioperative Services department and help to provide life-changing surgery services to patients at Straub. As the Perioperative Technician Aide, you will assist operating room staff with operating suite preparation and peri/post operative moving and positioning of patients. We are looking for someone with compassionate and professional patient care, excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: High School or equivalent. Successful completion of perioperative technician training course within three (3) months of hire. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card.
Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year transporter, instrument technician, or related health care experience.
