Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women’s Center and the Women’s Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.

The Pharmacy department is responsible for compounding and dispensing pharmaceuticals, supplies, medications and large-to-small volume parenterals, as well as providing drug information and education. We strive to ensure that our patients and clients receive safe and effective medication by applying the highest standards of modern pharmaceutical care.

As the Clinical Pharmacist, you will help to ensure that our Pharmacy provides outstanding pharmaceutical services to Kapi‘olani patients and their families. In this role, you will oversee the appropriate use of drugs in our health care practice by evaluating drug/dosage patterns and potential adverse drug reactions, and providing accurate information to medical, nursing and pharmacy staff. We are looking for someone meticulous with a demonstrated interest in pharmaceutical investigation, excellent customer service and communication skills and a commitment to our vision of delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawai‘i Pharmacist license. Two (2) years inpatient pharmacist or related experience or completion of pharmacy residency training.

Preferred Qualifications: Pharmacy Doctorate degree. Clinical pharmacist experience.
