Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The Straub Sleep Disorders Center has been offering comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services since 1982 to people of all ages who have suspected sleep-related disorders. The Sleep Lab provides evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders, implements intervention and conducts comprehensive Polysomnography monitoring to diagnose sleep disorders and assist with designing safe and appropriate treatment.

If you would like to join our award-winning Sleep Lab, as the Polysomnographic (PSG) Technologist, you will provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders across the full continuum of care. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services, or patient care and education. A PSG Technologist can perform the duties defined for a PSG Technician and may provide oversight of other staff. We are looking for someone detail-oriented and organized with excellent patient care, technical and communications skills, and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: Successful completion of a polysomnography program leading to an associate’s degree with an emphasis in polysomnography, or successful completion of a polysomnography program of no less than one (1) year duration associated with state licensed and/or a nationally accredited facility, or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technician. Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as EEG or Respiratory Technician. Pediatric and/or adult polysomnography.
