Job Description
Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. If you are a compassionate, sensitive caregiver and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment, you could be the ideal candidate for our Registered Nurse position. You would provide nursing services through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of patient care in our Cardiac Cath and IR Lab. You would also function as an associate to a charge nurse, and eventually assume charge nurse responsibilities. Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawai‘i Registered Nurse License. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) CPR cards. Two (2) years recent acute care Registered Nurse experience in an Interventional Cardiac Catheterization Lab or Interventional Radiology setting, Critical Care Unit, or Emergency Department setting. Required to complete Moderate Sedation Training Modules within 60 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications: Nursing Specialization Certification in cardiac care, pediatric emergency care or pediatric critical care. CCRN-CMC. One (1) year recent acute care Registered Nurse experience in an Interventional Cardiac Catheterization Lab or Interventional Radiology setting. Three (3) years Pediatric Cardiac Care or Emergency Room experience.
