Hawaii Pacific Health Registrar - Speech Language Therapy in Honolulu, Hawaii
Job Description
Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 243 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1,500 employees and more than 630 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women’s Center and the Women’s Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.
Our team of speech language pathologists works to help infants, children, adolescents and adults reach their full potential in mobility, communication and daily living skills. They work with people who have difficulty producing speech sounds, such as rhythm and fluency problems, stuttering, voice disorders, cognitive communication impairments, or simply those who wish to improve their communication skills. The department’s integrated program involves highly trained specialists that may include audiologists, speech-language therapists, occupational therapists and physical therapists.
If you have outstanding interpersonal skills and an upbeat personality, you might be ideal for the Registrar of Ancillary Services position, where you would support the management and administrative departments of Kapi‘olani as a gatekeeper and receptionist for patient appointments in the Speech Language Therapy department. This would cover a variety of areas, such as performing registration procedures, filing patient records, entering data and answering the phones. We are looking for someone bright and helpful who pays strong attention to detail, enjoys working with others in a team-oriented atmosphere and is committed to helping our organization deliver the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.
