Job Description
Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women’s Center and the Women’s Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.
The Supply, Processing and Distribution team plays a vital role in ensuring that medical and other needed equipment is readily available to units throughout our hospitals and clinics. This department cleans, prepares, assembles, sterilizes, distributes, and ensures the quality of all surgical instruments and medical equipment so that our physicians and staff can effectively carry out their work in caring for Hawai‘i’s people.
If you have excellent organizational and management skills, you could be the ideal candidate for our Supply, Processing & Distribution Supervisor position. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day activities of the department and provide staff coverage as needed. You will also coordinate the efficient storage, special handling, maintenance and transport of medical equipment and supplies, and you may oversee the decontamination, sterilization and processing of medical equipment as needed. Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Business or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Three (3) years sterile processing, materials management, supply processing, inventory, and/or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. Completion of an accredited Sterile Processing Program to include current certification. Lead or supervisory experience.
