Founded in 1938, Wilcox Medical Center is a not-for-profit medical center dedicated to providing the Kaua‘i community with accessible quality health care. The largest medical center on Kaua‘i, it is a state-of-the-art acute care facility with a full suite of services offering 30 specialties and programs, including cardiology, emergency, family practice, gastroenterology, health management, internal medicine, neurology, OB-GYN, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics and urology. Its 20-bed emergency department serves as the island’s Primary Stroke Center. The medical center also has four birthing suites, seven intensive care beds and 20 same-day surgery beds. Wilcox is the first American College of Surgeons-verified Level III Trauma Center in the state of Hawai‘i. The American Heart Association has recognized Wilcox with its Get with the Guidelines award for Stroke (S), Gold Plus and Honor Roll Elite Plus. Wilcox is a Healthgrades five-star recipient for the treatment of heart attack and five-start recipient for treatment of Stroke; and is the only medical center in the state to be named a Top 100 Rural and Community Hospital by the National Rural Health Association.

The Cardiology services at Wilcox are among the best in the State, and encompass specialty care including non-invasive diagnostics, EKG, Treadmill and Echocardiogram Imaging for both clinic and hospital in-patients. Our EKG department includes specially trained technicians and qualified physicians who employ state-of-the-art EKG technology and imaging techniques for accurate diagnosis and appropriate patient care plan development.

If you have meticulous technical and patient care skills, you could help the Outpatient Cardiology department at Wilcox deliver quality, compassionate cardiac care to our patients and their families. The Cardiac Technician performs a variety of electro-neurodiagnostic and non-invasive electro-cardiographic procedures including cardiac stress tests, EKGs and Holter monitoring. In addition to interacting with patients in a professional and considerate manner, the Cardiac Technician works closely with physicians, area support staff and other hospital departments. We are looking for someone with an exceptional sense of quality control in patient care, the ability to manage complex instrumentation and procedures, willingness to work collaboratively with others and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: One (1) to two (2) years of college and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card.

Preferred Qualifications: National certification in electro-neurodiagnostics. One (1) year of EEG or EKG clinical experience.
