Founded in 1938, Wilcox Medical Center is a not-for-profit medical center dedicated to providing the Kaua‘i community with accessible quality health care. The Biomedical Engineering department supports and enhances the work of our health care professionals by overseeing the maintenance, evaluation, technical support and training for all medical and scientific instrumentation/biomedical equipment. Our team ensures that the latest health care engineering and technology is put to the service of quality patient care and we work to enhance the use of this technology through ongoing evaluation, operation and staff education.
As a Biomedical Equipment Repair Technician, you enable our health care professionals to carry out their work with state-of-the-art biomedical infrastructure. You will provide maintenance and technical support for the medical and scientific instrumentation used by facility physicians and technicians. We are looking for someone meticulous with a demonstrated appreciation for technical protocol and quality control, willingness to work with others in a team-oriented atmosphere, the ability to carry out tasks efficiently with minimal supervision and a commitment to helping our organization deliver the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Work Schedule: Rotating - 8 Hours

Bargaining Unit: Non-Bargaining
Minimum Qualifications: Associate's Degree in biomedical equipment technology, electronics or related field OR military training OR academic work aligned with AAMI's Core Competencies for the Biomedical Equipment Technician. One (1) year experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment.
Preferred Qualifications: Biomedical Equipment Technician Certification (CBET) from the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI).
