Job Description
Kaua'i Medical Clinic is the island’s largest clinic and only multispecialty medical group. More than 85 physicians and midlevel providers offer primary and specialty care at clinic locations in Eleele, Kapaa, Koloa and Lihue.
At the Kaua‘i Medical Clinic the Hematology Oncology department provides care via visiting board-certified oncologists from Straub Clinic & Hospital who are trained to evaluate and treat all types of cancer and blood disorders. Patients can receive blood transfusions, chemotherapy, nutritional support, antibiotics and other IV therapy. Three physicians travel regularly from Honolulu to provide care and treatment to Kaua‘i patients, facilitating specialty care through the Hawai‘i Pacific Health network. In addition to the physician-provided services, Kaua‘i Medical Clinic’s nurses are skilled in providing education and emotional support to patients and their families.
As a Medical Assistant, you will join the dedicated team of physicians and medical staff that provide our recognized compassionate health services to patients and their families. In this role, you will perform a wide variety of patient care activities in our Resource Team department. We are looking for someone detail-oriented and attentive, with strong communications and patient care skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience. Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card. Must be able to complete departmental competency assessment by conclusion of orientation period. One (1) year back office medical assistant experience in an outpatient clinic, physician’s office, or related experience.
