Founded in 1938, Wilcox Medical Center is a not-for-profit medical center dedicated to providing the Kaua‘i community with accessible quality health care. The largest medical center on Kaua‘i, it is a state-of-the-art acute care facility with a full suite of services offering 30 specialties and programs, including cardiology, emergency, family practice, gastroenterology, health management, internal medicine, neurology, OB-GYN, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics and urology. Our Perioperative Services department provides full support throughout the duration of a patient's surgical procedure, spanning ward admission, anesthesia, surgery and recovery. Professional care services include identification of the patient’s individual needs, patient care plan development and implementation and the coordination of nursing service to restore each patient’s health before, during and after a surgical procedure.

As the Perioperative Aide, you will form part of our award-winning Surgical Services continuum and help to provide life-changing surgery services to patients at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Your responsibilities include assisting the perioperative care team in various aspects of patient care, including transportation of patients, supplies/equipment, specimens, and blood products to, from, and within the surgical unit. You also assist with surgical instrument processing, OR inventory management and other clerical functions. We are looking for someone with excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to work effectively in a high-intensity environment and adapt to rapid changes in work assignments and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card.

Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year experience as a hospital nurse aide, preferably in acute care setting.
