Founded in 1938, Wilcox Medical Center is a not-for-profit medical center dedicated to providing the Kaua‘i community with accessible quality health care. The largest medical center on Kaua‘i, it is a state-of-the-art acute care facility with a full suite of services offering 30 specialties and programs, including cardiology, emergency, family practice, gastroenterology, health management, internal medicine, neurology, OB-GYN, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics and urology. Its 18-bed emergency department serves as the island’s Primary Stroke Center. The medical center also has four birthing suites, seven intensive care beds and 20 same-day surgery beds. Wilcox is the first American College of Surgeons-verified Level III Trauma Center in the state of Hawai‘i. Our Perioperative Services department provides full support throughout the duration of a patient's surgical procedure, spanning ward admission, anesthesia, surgery and recovery. Professional care services include identification of the patient’s individual needs, patient care plan development and implementation and the coordination of nursing service to restore each patient’s health before, during and after a surgical procedure.

As a Registered Nurse in our Perioperative Services, you will have the opportunity to provide direct patient care and support to physician staff within the perioperative environment. You will be responsible for the perioperative plan of care including nursing assessment, documentation, and assisting the anesthesia provider, with an emphasis on patient safety. You will also take the night and weekend call. Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawai‘i Registered Nurse License. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) CPR cards. One (1) year recent acute care Registered Nurse experience in Medical Surgical.

Preferred Qualifications: Intensive Care Unit or Post Anesthesia Care Unit experience. Knowledge of EPIC charting.
